The 360KnifeBlock™ is a 360 degree rotating magnetic knife block Made from over 8 feet of Quarter Sawn American Walnut wood, milled especially for us in Bellingham Washington. Comprised of over 16 precession cut parts hand assembled, hand finished, hand packed and shipped directly from our own Seabeck Washington Woodshop.
Capacity for 12+ knives (up to three pear-ing knives on any of the 6x 3.5″ side). Our patented modern classic hourglass design is visibly smaller than any other knife block. The flared skirt provides a blade free space to spin the block, grounds the design and is laborious to make. Deep black color starts with our quarter sawn American walnut wood with careful furniture grade staining process in our own woodshop:
- Hand rub on a furniture grade black stain let it rest for 24 hours.
- The next day we lightly sand every side and re-apply a second coat of black again let it rest overnight.
- On the third day we apply the first coats of Emmitt’s “Good Stuff” food safe butcher-block finish and let rest overnight (again).
- Fourth day, before we package up the blocks we rub each black 360KnifeBlock™ with Howards wood conditioner to keep it looking black and lush while it makes it way to you.
Regular oiling with any mineral oil will keep your black block looking fresh for a lifetime.
