If you’re the kind of cook who has a different blade for every task, the 360KB could be for you. This rotating bamboo block lets you switch between a butcher knife, a nakiri, a santoku, and more with ease. The heavy-duty hexagon is designed to replace a traditional slotted knife block, offering significantly more versatility—each of the six faces can accommodate two chef’s knives, one large cleaver, or three small steak/paring/fillet knives. It’s tall enough for lengthy bread knives and brisket slicers, with impressive magnet strength.

The 360KB is really well-designed, featuring a flat cork bottom that will not slide on the counter and a sand-weighted base to prevent tipping or wobbling. It rotates so smoothly that we had fun spinning it like a top when we first took it out of the box (though we wouldn’t recommend doing so when there are knives attached). The magnets held a 15.5-ounce cleaver with no issues, and they stuck to most of my chef’s knives so firmly that I needed two hands to remove them.

We tested the bamboo version of the 360 KB, but it is also available in natural and ebonized walnut, as well as occasional special editions made from more exotic woods. The main issue is that they are all quite expensive. The block also takes up a lot of space, comparable to a slotted block that can hold 12 knives. If you only need access to three or four blades at a time, consider a smaller option that costs significantly less.
